Since 1963, the nursing profession in Ontario has enjoyed self-regulation, a privilege granted to professions demonstrating prioritization of public interests over professional ones. This recognition underscores the proficiency of Ontario’s nurses in both self-regulations as individual practitioners and in governing their profession through the College.
