GOOD NEWS FOR NCLEX-RN APPICANTS, NEW ADVISORY REPORT BY NNAS 2023

SAY BYE BYE TO CURRICULUM PROCESS which makes NNAS process SLOW.

There is a change in the National Nursing Assessment Service’s NNAS process. This change is part of their efforts to streamline their processes for Internationally Educated Nurses (IEMs) in collaboration with CNO (College of Nurses of Ontario).

Effective February 9, 2023, NNAS will release Advisory Reports without requiring a curricular assessment to applicants who have written and passed the National Council Licensure Examination [for] Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) on or after April 1, 2013 and who will be applying for licensure or registration as a RN at CNO, NANB, NSCN and BCCNM.  This change is part of our efforts to streamline our processes for Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs).

When I saw this change in the morning, I felt very happy. I am going to explain how this is good news for all of us who are already applied for NCLEX-RN or who are going to apply for it.

It is beneficial for the applicants who already written and passed NCLEX-RN on or after April 1, 2013. You can update your application with your NCLEX-RN information by going into the EXAMINATION SECTION i.e., Part-C of your NNAS Application form. You will then see a new section where you can confirm you have written and passed NCLEX-RN on or after April 1, 2013.

One more thing, you will also ask to mention your NCLEX-RN ID number. This will allow NNAS to verify your results and include this information on your advisory Report. If you don't know your NCLEX-RN ID, please follow the instructions which is mentioned in the NNAS portal.

It is the good news for all internationally educated nurses. If you clear your NCLEX -RN exam from any country, you update your NCLEX-RN passing information in the EXAMINATION section, NNAS going to evaluate you on the basis of NCLEX-RN test result, not on the basis of curriculum which will be provided from your back home. (Curriculum = syllabus of the nursing), Hence, NO DELAY in the process of NNAS. Result in FAST NNAS PROCESS.

If you have not written and passed NCLEX-RN on or after April 1, 2013. you do not need to do anything. Your application will continue in the process and your nursing education curriculum will be assessed.

If you have still any doubts with questions about this change should contact Applicant Support at support@nnas.ca or by calling 1-855-977-1898, Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. ET.
