Nurses are suspended because of their illegal activities. 1.Carole Garfield was suspended 2. Nanaimo nurse and Castlegar nurse also suspended.
In West Kelowna, a nurse whose name is Carole Garfield suspended for providing a vulnerable client anti-vaccine information and recommending “alternative pseudoscience” treatments, according to B.C., s nursing college.
She was under investigation for actions that happened in September 2021. She met clients when she was off duty, used her phone, personal email to give information against the COVID-19 vaccine.
She has received a public reprimand and is prohibited from being the sole registered nurse on duty for a period of six months.
The college has also ordered her to receive “remedial education in ethics, boundaries, documentation, privacy and confidentiality, and the professional nursing standards”.
ALSO, another Nanaimo nurse was also suspended for asking a colleague to make fake proof of vaccination and posted on the social media claiming that” COVID-19 vaccine was unnecessary, unsafe and possibly lethal”.
Apart from that, a Castlegar nurse was also suspended for six months for successfully creating four fake B.C. Vaccine Cards in 2021.
In conclusion, Why I posted this article?
Only because of to guide the registered nurses and new nurses not to play with the confidentiality of the patients, do not spread misinformation to clients, do not make fake documents for anyone, be responsible, do their jobs in boundaries, do proper documentation, know the rules and regulations including ethics, know the importance of privacy, keep in mind the professional nursing standards.
Otherwise, it may affect your career to. As, I already mentioned about the nurses who break the nursing rules were suspended.
